Pom Poms

In January, my daughter celebrated her very first birthday. Because we've been through so much in the last year, it was such a huge milestone. I went all out on her decorations. I absolutely LOVE the new paper mom moms that have been popular in a lot of decorating schemes but none of the store ones were in the colors I needed (yes, need, not want!). I put my pinterest surfing skills to use!

My finished product

They turned out fantastic! And made great photo props at the end of the day. They were so easy and cheap to make. For each ball, you choose a color of tissue paper. Each one takes an entire package of 8-10 sheets. Fold all the sheets together as if you're making a fan. The instructions I found said to tie it with string but I chose to use a rubber band first. Then I tied with a string cut long enough to hang. After that, you simply cut the ends to the shape you prefer and begin pulling each sheet up and out. I made nine balls in a little less than an hour. One recommendation I can make is..... poof them up at your venue. It was tough transporting these giant tissue paper beasts without damaging them.

Happy birthday Callista!
I am on spring break this week so in between children's hospital appointments I am looking forward to adding products to my soon to be Etsy shop! Eeeeeek!
